AgResearch officially becomes a shareholder of FarmIQ

Through FarmIQ’s acquisition of FARMAX in 2021, the company formed a strategic partnership with Crown Research Institute (CRI) AgResearch. Through a shared vision to provide the primary industry with better access to information and support, AgResearch has become the preferred provider of science and research for FarmIQ.

“For us, it’s all about finding ways to provide the agricultural industry with quality access to research and science,” says Sue Bidrose, Chief Executive, AgResearch. “Working with FarmIQ and FARMAX in this capacity creates more opportunities to support collaboration between scientists and farmers through farm management technologies.”

Formerly a Primary Growth Partnership initiative, in 2017 FarmIQ became a fully incorporated company. Now supported by several local farming businesses, they continue to bring innovative technologies to over 5,000 New Zealand farmers.

Through this alliance, FarmIQ continues to stake its claim as New Zealand’s leading provider of planning and decision-support tools, enabling kiwi farmers to make more productive, profitable, and sustainable decisions.

Additionally, FarmIQ has also appointed Megan Skiffington, Sector Manager Meat & Fibre, AgResearch to join its Board of Directors as an observer.

Currently the FarmIQ portfolio includes the FARMAX decision modelling tool as well as its core FarmIQ farm management system. Having both tools backed by AgResearch science, farmers can accurately predict farm performance, make a realistic plan, and track real-time results.

AgResearch science is trusted and respected by the industry, including farmers. Applying this credible body of knowledge as the foundation of our decision support tools gives farmers confidence their on-farm digital systems and farming intuitions are aligned. At its core, this aligns with FarmIQ’s mission to ensure farmers spend less time on bookwork, and more time on the farm.
